New work from Von – Semblance

We at UAM have been following Von’s work for a while now and are massive fans. We absolutely love the fluidity and often intensity he can bring out of a portrait, whilst still being able to show the true emotion from the subject. His work is influenced by nature and popular culture his artwork is both detailed and abstract, being able to flawlessly walk the line between surrealism and documentary portraiture to capture a mood in what appears to be a fleeting moment in time.

Von has a new set of beautifully created¬†limited edition prints, in a hand made collectors edition box named Semblance. If you can’t get down to his launch on the 24th, have a look at the site listed below. You will not be disappointed.

Snik Exhibition – Nocturnal

On Thursday the UAM team took a trip down to the late night opening of Snik’s debut solo show at The Gallery on Redchurch Street. Snik’s work mainly comprises of intricate¬†layered stencils and can be seen on canvas, wood and metal with an amazing attention to detail. If you get down quick enough you can even see some work on a piano! We were really impressed with Snik’s work and thought this debut show was well worth a mention. Having a quick chat, he told us having a strong foundation and recognition in actual street art made the transition to being a commercial artist not such a difficult move. Its great to see Snik using the different mediums you might find on the street, translating well into the pieces seen at the gallery. Really top stuff Snik, looking forward to the next batch of work.

The show ends Sunday 6th November so if you want a glimpse of this cracking work get down the The Gallery on Redchurch Street, 50 Redchurch Street, London E2 7DP 10am-6pm. Failing that take a look at his website or join him on Facebook. LIKE!
